Therapeutic Models and Theories of Communication

The interview entails questions regarding Mr. Fred Mohammadi duration in the hospital and how health care providers such as physicians, nurses and health care assistants interacted with him until the day of the discharge.
             Before meeting with Mr. Fred Mohammadi, I sets up some questions to ask him during the interview. After making the notes, the writer sets an appointment at Starbucks where he feels comfortable to answer all the questions. The interview was held on first Saturday of April at around 11:00 a.m. The first phase of the interview, the writer explained to Mr. Fred Mohammadi the purpose of the interview, the reason for the interview, and questions to be expected during the interview. During this phase I used a linear model of communication. First by introducing the writer's intention and purpose of the interview. At this moment, Mr. Fred Mohammadi was listening carefully and writer noted it as a non-verbal cue that he had accepted very well the intentions of the writer. The writer also reassured the interviewee that the final documentation of the verbal articulation between the writer and Mr. Fred Mohammadi will be held confidential and only be shared within the school where I am currently studying. Mr. Fred Mohammadi responded by nodding and I interpreted non-verbal cue as a sign that the orientation phase was clear enough for him to understand.
             During the orientation phase where I applied the linear model several non-verbal cues were noted such as Mr. Fred Mohammadi had eye contact directly to me, shows active participation by listening attentively and nodding after I had said something.
             The writer then proceeds to the working phase where circular transactional model will be applied. On this phase I began by asking Mr. Fred Mohammadi in which hospital he was admitted. He said Loins Gate Hospital in 15 street, North Vancouver. I established the first verbal communication and first circular transactional model of communication by allowing Mr.
