The Importance of Minorities

            America is referred to as the land of immigrants where people are treated equally. But is America a land of equality and freedom? It's separated into two groups : whites and minorities. Since the founding fathers of this country were of white ethnicity, every other ethnicity is considered a minority. In the Webster's dictionary, the word minority refers to something of no importance. The name minority contradicts everything America stands for. There is a lot of ignorance among the people of white ethnicity because they think that we are of less value. Yet, they do not know the importance of minorities in the United States.
             Minorities have been migrating to this country for many decades. They have left their country of origin looking for a better living. When they arrive to this country they are mistreated. They are giving the worse jobs for lack of understanding and speaking the English language. Though many lack the required education, all of the minorities are discriminated. Some think we come to this country to invade and steal their jobs. Others think we don't belong here because this is not our country of origin. We are looked down as animals, but all we are trying to do is to better our lives. We come here looking for an opportunity to succeed. Everyone should be given the chance to better their lives not mattering their ethnicity. We are important to this country because we make up the majority of the population. We contribute an enormous amount of money towards the economy of this country. If this country wouldn't have us ,minorities, its economy would be down. Other than we contribute to this economy, we also offer our different cultures and backgrounds without the need of traveling. Our typical foods are sold right here and we give the chance to others to learn about us by selling our products. We have so much to offer. .
             We have gone through a lot. It has taken us hard labor to get where we are today.
