Mycenaean empire was invaded by three groups of people including people from the north, Dorians and the Sea People. The effect of the invasion of the Dorians remained under question as it is claimed by some scholars that they only took advantage to occupy the larger region of the Mycenae after the Mycenaeans had been weakened rather than giving an on front attack to a strong standing Mycenaean empire. The Dorians not only attacked Mycenae but also occupies Aegean Sea and Ionia islands .
