The knowledge of the Holy

"What enters our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us" (A. To me this quote means, whatever thoughts or reactions you have when the word God is mentioned will determine how you think, feel, and behave. Thoughts on God vary throughout the world; there are those who have limited thoughts on God, those who do not believe in God whatsoever, and those who put in complete trust and faith in God. This fact is obvious not only in different denominations of the church but also different religions. Islam for example not only worships another god but their holy book, the Koran, encourages jihad, which is basically war on Christians or better known as "holy war". An example of people who do not believe in the whole body of Christ are the Jehovah witnesses; this group has some belief in Christ but the do not believe in the trinity. However we as Christians know that Christ died for our sins and that "it is by grace that we are saved," not works (Ephesians 2:5). .
If a person hears God and thinks guy who lets me do whatever I want and be forgiven for it later, that person needs to have a serious talk with the man Himself. Romans 8:13 states, "For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die" (Life application study bible, 2041). However the Bible also states that all have sinned, therefore the Bible is not condoning sin but at the same time it is acknowledging that everyone will fall short some times. In fact, everybody sins at one time or another. Even the Church can be accused of falling short. In the knowledge of the Holy Tozer states in his preface, "The Church has surrendered her once lofty concept of God and has substituted for it one so low, so ignoble, as to be utterly unworthy of thinking, worshipping men" (The Knowledge of the Holy, vii). .
The thoughts which enter one's mind when contemplating God will determine whether or not that person is a true believer in Christ, a doubting Thomas, or an atheist.
