Methandrostenolone, or Dianabol, is an orally-effective anabolic steroid that was introduced in the early 1960s by Ciba specialty chemicals. It has been very popular amongst body builders as it is very effective for increasing body strength and helps gain muscle mass. It is also referred to as "Dbol". In the market this steroid is also known as methanol, averbol, methandienone, etc. It exhibits anabolic(tissue-building) and androgenic(sex-linked) properties. It was designed to convert to estrogen but ended up a lot more estrogenic than it was thought to be. It converts into potent estrogen which causes usual bloating in the body. It is an addition to the bulking steroid cycles which help in acquiring the "puffy look". Dosages of Dianabol are based on how much muscle mass a body builder wants to gain. Dianabol is amalgamated with enanthate, cypionate, and sustanone; which are injectable testosterones. It is also an oral testosterone, but it has 17 alpha-alkylated. This means that when the steroid passes through the liver, it will not be destroyed. However, if the intake of Dianabol is continued for a long period, it causes liver toxicity and critical health issues might occur. It can also interfere with the blood circulation and harm the kidneys.
Some standard side effects that occur in men are High Blood Pressure(hypertension), Low HDL cholesterol, High LDL cholesterol, water retention, painful erections, abnormal sperm production, liver problems (hepatotoxicity), Kidney problems (renal disease,) shrinkage of the testicles, and Gynecomastia. When Dbol comes in contact with an enzyme called aromatase, it is possible for estrogenic side effects to occur. To avoid the health issues, it highly suggested that intake of water should be constant and cycle-aids like N2Gaurd and Cardarine should be used along with Dianabol. .
Women are suggested not to take Dianabol as severe masculinising side effects could occur.
