The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

" 5 The Satisfaction theory is about how Jesus went to the cross to die for our sins so that God could forgive us. This is told by the Archbishop when he writes, "therefore have we clearly found that Christ, who we confess to be both God and man, died for us." 6 It was also written "only the God-Man is able, by his divinity, to offer something that is worthy of God and, by his humanity, to represent mankind." 7.
Satisfaction, to make restitution, mending what has been broken, or paying back what was taken, all of these words/phrases can be related to both Jesus as well as Aslan from Narnia. Aslan and Jesus are usually thought to be similar in that they both fulfill prophecy to save the world, and they were both considered Kings. Jesus is known as the king of the Jews and Aslan is known as the king of Narnia. In Narnia there is a prophecy that states that "two sons of Adam and two daughters of Eve will come and the reign of evil will stop".8 The prophecy is very important to Aslan and he does everything that he can do make it come true. Aslan goes so far as to give his own life to keep the prophecy. Which is similar to Jesus in that they both give their life up voluntarily and so is considered unjust. .
To help fulfill the prophecy Aslan sacrifices himself to save Edmund from getting killed. Edmund is supposed to get killed because he betrayed Aslan by helping the White Witch.9 This is similar to Judas in that Edmund also betrays Aslan as Judas betrays Jesus.10 When Aslan gets killed Lucy and Susan are there and see it happen, just like when Mary and Peter from the Bible see Jesus die and bring Him down from the cross.11 A while after Aslan is killed he comes back to life and explains to Lucy and Susan that he is still alive by saying "if the Witch knew the true meaning of sacrifice, she might have interpreted the deep magic differently. That when a willing victim who has committed no treachery, is killed in a traitor's stead, the stone table will crack, and even death itself would turn backwards".
