Advancements of Warfare in WW2

(http://ww2db.com/weapon.php?q=5)The StG44 assault rifle design was considered revolutionary. Even though the design did not particularly evolve to any significant advances, the concept of assault rifles certainly lived on and became the standard weapons of modern infantrymen. The StG 44 assault rifles undoubtedly changed the thinking of the standard issue infantry rifles. .
Over the course of World War 2, Germany used a warfare tactic, Blitzkrieg; it was a very effective tactic that used speed and surprise to cause panic and destruction over many cities. Blitzkrieg relied on a military force based around tanks supported by infantry and planes. The science of this approach was the ability to get large mobile forces through weak points in the enemy's defences and then cause damage when behind the lines. Stuka dive bombers were sent to destroy all rail lines, communication centres and major rail links.(http://www.history.com/topics/world-war-ii/blitzkrieg) This was done as the German tanks were approaching, the planes would withdrew only at the last minute so that the enemy did not have time to recover their senses when the tanks attacked supported by infantry. With large formations cut off from communication and logistics, pressure could then be put on interior defences. This tactic was to create panic amongst the population. A civil population on the move can be absolute havoc for a defending army trying to get its forces to the war front. A diary was found and used by a french soldier. He says interesting things about the tactic blitzkrieg. "The pace is too fastit's the co-operation between the dive-bombers and the tanks that is winning the war for Germany.".

This tactic was very successful because multiple types of military were working together to take down the enemy. After the war, many countries and generals started to make variants of Blitzkrieg as well as reuse it.
