Freedom by Pharrell Williams

If someone doesn't appreciate your style, then they shouldn't be in your life. Tearing down the barriers of the stereotypes, plus-sized, slender, older and younger women are shown removing the wigs from their heads and walking away from the "standard image" of a beautiful woman. Racism is an example of psychological captivity. In Charleston, SC a shooter entered a church, killed 9 people and injured others because he wanted to start a race war between white and black people. Despite the shooter's intentions a race war was not started, but instead the community came together to console each other. "Hold onto me, don't let me go, who cared what they know," convey the meaning of no matter what you're going through, who you are or how different we may be that a helping hand is always available. A group of people from different ethnicities, cultures and backgrounds are seen hugged together as if to break any racial barriers that have been formed in previous years. The group of people with red shirts symbolized although we are different, we are equal and free from the troubling racist past that haunted our nation. During this joyous time of the video, the music was very lively and upbeat, the lighting was bright, the shirts were a bright red color meaning strength and power. The phrase "hold onto me" was repeated to remind people that they are never alone and together anything can be accomplished. Freedom from an enslaved mind brought love, peace and happiness.
Forced labor is still practiced in many countries across the globe, even the United States. Employers such as Wal-Mart, hotel chains and restaurants prey on the foreigners because they are willing to work for a cheaper price. Foreigners usually come to a new country with an immense amount of debt and many employers use this as an advantage to employ a foreigner. Employers allow immigrants to work in order to reduce their debt by paying less than $10 an hour, but begin tacking on charges for housing and feeding the immigrant which increases the debt.
