Miguel de Cervantes" writing is that of old English, whereas he portrays his story with a language of past events. His literature is in the format of the present mixed with thought clouds from the narrator. His characters are portrayed through descriptions of places and events. His writing comes from the ending of the middle Ages to the beginning of the Renaissance. Cervantes portrays the character of a Don Quixote, a man deeply lost and overcome in his books of chivalry. Cervantes lingers on an antique style of writing throughout the story, but yet I am sure that the style of writing that he is using is repetition of a tale. Cervantes" writing may be complicated to sort out but it is easy to understand.
Don Quixote, which is composed of three different sections, is a great examination of the possibilities of narration. The first of these sections, including the chapter covering Don Quixote's first expedition, functions mainly as a satirical composition of fashionable romance tales. The second section, contains the rest of the first part, is written under the appearance of a history, by going along in a historical detour and breaking up the chapters regularly, carefully reporting every day's events. The third section, which covers the second part of the novel, is different since it is written as a more established novel, arranged by emotional and content, which relates to the theme, and filled with character development. Cervantes alone reports the story in the first section, using a simple but direct narrative style. Beginning in the second section, Cervantes tells us that he is translating the manuscript of Cide Hamete Benengeli which he often interrupts the narration to mention Benengeli and the interior contradictions in his, Benengeli's, manuscript. Here, Cervantes uses Benengeli mainly to support his claim that the story is a true history.
In the third section, however, Cervantes goes into the novel as a character; as a combination of Benengeli and Cervantes the author.
