Dumb and Dumber: A Great Comedic Movie .
In 1994 the Farrelly brothers directed the movie Dumb and Dumber. Delivering exactly what its title promises, this celebration of stupidity is starred by Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. The movie pairs the not-so-dynamic duo of Harry and Lloyd together, who come into the possession of a briefcase containing ransom money that is intended for mob-connected kidnappers. As Harry and Lloyd make a mad dash to return the briefcase (never aware of its contents), the bumbling buddies attract Mobsters, cops, and trouble galore. Dumb and Dumber is one of the greatest movies of the nineties because it exposes the viewer to great actors portraying dim-witted men and timeless jokes.
The actor's ability to portray themselves as the stupidest men in America makes Dumb and Dumber one of the greatest movies of the nineties. For instance when Lloyd sells a blind kid a dead parakeet with its decapitated head taped back on. This shows that Lloyd has an exceedingly shameless attitude with things. Also when Lloyd puts a laxative in Harry's drink, then lets him go on a date. This reiterates that Lloyd is shameless. In addition when Harry tries to lick frost off a metal post and gets his tongue stuck to it. This action creates laughter because of the ridiculousness of this act. Much of the comedy comes from their facial reactions and there inane appearance. Lloyd has a chipped front tooth with a bowl like hair style, while Harry has long shaggy hair. The characters of Harry and Lloyd don't even realize that they are being foolish in some of the scenes. For instance, when Harry and Lloyd are looking for jobs and exclaim to each other that there are none unless you want to work forty hours a week. The characters in the movie truly believe that a real job is not forty hours week. When in real life forty hours a week is the only way to go. The actor's outlandish behavior gives the movie another dimension to make it hilarious.
