WAYS IN WHICH PEOPLE COPE WITH STRESS.
            
From the beginning of time to the present people have dealt with stress in .

Stress is caused when we feel under pressure, worried, sad, upset, .
            
threatened, or uncomfortable feelings.  Even though stress occurs in our .
            
lives all the time there are ways in which we can cope with it.  Some ways .
            
to cope are by performing physical activities or relaxation techniques, .
            
discussing problems, abusing alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and food, or by .
            
blaming others.
            
Some people like to cope with stress by performing physical activities. .
            
When people perform these activities endorphins, which are hormones produced .
            
by the body to relieve pain and promote pleasure, are released.  There are .
            
many ways in which you can perform these activities such as walking, .
            
jogging, boxing, stretching, swimming, or any means of getting in shape.
            
Another way to deal with stress is by participating in various hobbies that .
            
you enjoy.  People perform hobbies because they enjoy them and it's a way of .
            
taking their minds off of stressful events.  Some of these events include .
            
gardening, collecting, creating things, cooking, or anything that you enjoy .
            
to pass time.
            
Also, deep breathing is a way in which people cope with stress.  Probably .
            
one time in your life someone has told you to take a deep breath when you .
            
were mad or upset.  By breathing in deeply it causes you to relax and not to .
            
focus on stressful events.  Some easy ways of doing this is counting to ten .
            
with deep breaths between each number.
            
Discussing problems with others gets the stress off your chest.  Lots of .
            
times you have things on your mind that make you feel stressed and worried.  .
            
Simply having a friend, loved one, or psychiatrist to listen to their .
            
problems helps to "take some weight off your shoulders.'.
