She wanted to remind them it was her affair and she didn't want to hush up, she wasn't very good at it anyway.
Finally Henry left to get Martha, Ed stayed as a chaperone, although they both thought it was a little late for that and the couple soon to be married , sat on opposite side of the room glaring at each other.
"Jessica, what have you done this time?" Libbie asked as soon as she walked into the room and saw Jessie.
"Honest Lib, I didn't do anything wrong this time." Jessica begged with her sister.
"Just maybe, you've cried wolf one two many times." Libbie responded without much sympathy, besides Libbie thought to herself, this is what I wanted, a good home for Jessica. It will all work out, she thought.
"Well, I think we've had enough excitement for one afternoon, shall we all proceed to the church and take care of this matter? Henry spoke up.
They all headed towards the church, and by this time the word was out among the crowd, so as much as the bride and groom would have like to keep this quiet. It was not to be.
Charles pulled Libbie aside before they entered the church, "You know I was serious about my marriage proposal, I get kinda lonely every now and again, and I built this big house which is just calling for people to live in it. You and your brother and sisters need a place to live. We both know that you can't live with your Uncle and the Anderson's don't have the room. What do you say?".
For a moment Libbie was so startled by his speech, she didn't know what to say. "I believe that is the most talk I've heard come out of the mouth since I met you. I didn't quite believe you were capable of it.".
Charles smiled, "So is that a yes?".
Libbie turned serious, "Could I think about it for awhile?".
"We"re already at the church, everyone is already here, you could have a double wedding with your sister.".
"Would I ,would I have to sleep with you?" She asked shyly.
