Capitalism Viability in the Future

.
America has greatly benefited from having a capitalist government form. Because of our free economy competition serves by decreasing the prices of products but also increasing the quality of them. For example if there are two companies making chairs they both want the mass of people to buy them so they make them with the best quality parts that they can and sell it for the lowest possible price while still earning a profit. Because the price of the item is low and the quality is high more people will buy more of the product. Also the income of American's has been rising. In 1950 the average income of each person per year in the United States was $9729 and in 2002 the average income was $39,271 . One can see that the average income of people in the United States has been rising. If capitalism wasn't an effective government would the average income of people living in the U.S. be rising? I don't think so. In a communist country such as Cuba the average income per person per year has actually gone down. In 1940 this number was $312 and in 2003 the number was $100 . Therefore there was a significant decrease in the income of a person living in Cuba per year. Once again it is possible to see that Capitalism is an effective government as the United States has greatly benefited from it.
Capitalism and communism are almost opposite forms of government. Capitalism generally speaking is when property is privately owned and communism is when property is collectively owned or owned by the government. Communist countries are more prone to inefficiency and corruption. For example China because of its size, immense population, and abundance of natural resources should make it a world superpower. Instead the average income is less than $850 per person a year while the United State's average income is $39,271 per person a year. China is thousands of years older than the United States yet in about 235 years the United States has managed to become the world super power both militarily and economically.
