            Attorney General Jennifer Granholm, 43 is the first woman to win a major party nomination for governor in Michigan. She overpowered two far more experienced Democratic rivals to win her party's nomination for governor. Jennifer Granholm worked her way through both the University of California at Berkley and Harvard Law School and graduated with honors. Before joining the Wayne County staff in 1994 she was a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's office for four years. She attained a 98 percent conviction rate for putting away, bank robbers, drug dealers, and violent gang members. .
             Jennifer Granholm stands on many issues. On June 27, 2002 she pointed out one of the issues, Michigan Healthcare. She wants to ensure quality healthcare for all. Her plan is to lower the price of prescription drugs by leveraging the state's buying power. Another plan is to enforce the Michigan's Patients Bill of Rights, which requires that you and your doctor, not insurance companies, make the right decisions about your healthcare. Another important issue is Corporate Responsibility. Her plan for corporate responsibility is that as state governor she will issue an executive order that will pertain to all state agencies to stop doing business with companies that break federal and state laws that have to do with corporate behavior and protect shareholders, protect workers' rights and pensions, and the environment. .
