            In the film "The Shawshank Redemption" directed by Frank Darabont the qualities that Andy possessed that contributed to the overall impact of the movie were leadership in helping others, intelligence which manipulated the guards And the warden and finally determination to escape from prison.
             After initially keeping to himself Andy's first impressions weren't too popular although as time passed by, he slowly climbed up the ranks and eventually gains respect from his fellow inmates. Most of them turned or relied on Andy whenever there was a problem or needed his help. They looked up to him because of his courageous acts.
