The racist black man


The movie also shows us through time the white people that persecuted the blacks realized that they were wrong and eventually changed the way that they felt towards each other by the end of the movie. There are several different characters in the movie. One of the main characters is Daryl; he is sort of the leader of the white group. If he says to do something they pretty much do it when he says to. He is also the captain of the team. He is portrayed in the movie as being the major leader, but he is also portrayed as being one of the most racist people in the movie. He does not like the blacks and does not want to be associated with them in any form or fashion. Due to his racism he is also attacked by the blacks especially the black so-called leader Julius. The movie really emphasizes on the relationship between Daryl and Julius. The movie shows how Daryl and Julius learn to get over their color and become friends to face the rest of the world due to their friendship. .

             There are several things that are portrayed by the director to establish the racism. First the audience is introduced to the racism by the new coach Boon being added and the old coach Yoast being demoted. You also see racism when the football players first meet each other. They refuse to play together, and nearly get in a fight protesting to the other side. You see racism by Yoasts daughter. In one scene she slams the front door to her house in coach Boons face. She does not like coach Boon because coach Boon took her dad's position. You are introduced to racism by an angry mob outside the school protesting against the players playing together. This scene was depicted when the player's return from football camp to find there parents in awe that the there sons have united with the other race. He also uses a scene, which involves an angry white male throwing a brick into coach Boon's house. The director uses coach Yoasts daughter as a white witness to the things that Black families have gone through for many years.
