America is the land of many freedoms, and as such American society strives to give individuals as much freedom as possible. For example, all Americans are entitled to the right to free speech, and are able to openly express any opinion that they have. Americans also have the right to bear arms and protect themselves and their families. There are cases though, in which the freedom of an individual infringes on the rights of others. In these cases the freedom of the individual must be restricted to protect other individuals or the society as a whole. For instance, even though everyone has the right to free speech, one cannot slander another individual by lying about them. And though people have the right to own guns there are many restrictions gun owners must abide by in order to ensure public safety. The public's safety and right to certain freedoms is of utmost important which is why certain activities related to public nudity and sex must be limited. These types of displays infringe upon the rights of others and could be considered a health hazard. .
There are people who believe that being nude is natural and there is nothing wrong with it. I would agree. But then people take it a step further and claim that there is nothing wrong with public nudity. This is where I disagree. .
First and foremost nobody wants to see another person naked out in public even at the beach. Many consider it distasteful and classless and it makes them extremely uncomfortable. Public nudity causes problems in society for several reasons. The first reason is that public nudity raises many issues regarding public sex. Everyone agrees that public displays of sexual activity are wrong. Stemming from that, most people will agree that public nudity for the purpose of sexual gratification is wrong. If public nudity is legal it becomes very difficult to determine peoples motives, to determine whether or not it is a legal display of public nudity.
