Since its development, audio visual has become something extremely important that it is now a necessity rather than a luxury. In order for the common man to stay sophisticated in the world, he/she must have some device of audio visual to gain knowledge of the world around him/her. With the era becoming completely digitally controlled and information being transferred before the blink of an eye, it is no longer a luxury to have an audio visual device. News from around the world are able to be heard in an instant and if something major happens half way around the world, if one has an audio visual device, they will immediately know about it.
However, although audiovisual devices are great units to use to stay sophisticated and to stay connected with everyone around the world, it is extremely arduous to keep up with the digital world. Everyday, there is an advancement in technology taking place and every year, audio visual devices which we once thought to be great progressions are soon becoming out of date. For example, just a few years ago, flat screen monitors were thought to be the state of the art technology, but now, the LCD liquid screen monitors are becoming the new pinnacle in audio visual advancement. Another example is of the lap top. When the lap tops first were developed they brought a lot of attention and voices of disbelief. "How can a bulky desktop computer fit into something so small?" raved many surprised critics of the time, but now lap tops are becoming even smaller and smaller. Today, it is normal for a lap top to be only twelve inches wide and just once inch thick.
After amazement comes acceptance, and after comes dismissing. The technology, which we all once thought were great advancements, are becoming ancient state of the art technology of the past and are quickly becoming disposed. In the junkyard we can witness the holocaust of millions of out dated computers and other audio visual devices.
