If we Let things terrify us it will not be worth living.

The sun beat wildly down on the rugged earth scorching its surface and our white skin was beging to turn a bright pink. Sweat rolled down my face slipping out of every pore. I wiped it away quickly without thought. My heels sloshed against the slimy backs of my clear jelly shoes. My friend's hair was wet with sweat from the drowning heat. She took a deep breath and calmly asked, "Do you want to race home?".
The thought stuck in my head like a ton of bricks. I replied slowly, "Sure, why not?".
"Ok, how about you race home the way of the hill and I'll race home the way of the busy street?" she suggested.
             "Okey-dokey!" I answered enthusiastically.
We started on our different routs to see which one took us home faster. I went off my way and she went off hers. As I was walking along the freshly cleaned streets, a strange dog started following me. He was black with white spots on his shaggy old body. He had piercing black eyes that seemed to cut a hole in my heart. He was medium to large sized and it looked as if his fur hadn't been cut in months. I didn't think much of it at first, but he kept at me. I had soon broken out into a cold sweat and I was shaking all over. I watched every step I took so I wouldn't trip over my own feet. My heart had begun to pound ninety miles an hour and I was covered with goose bumps. I started walking faster and faster until I was at a dead run heading straight for nowhere. I glanced behind and the dog was gaining on me. I kept thinking of what would happen to me if he got me and tackled me to the ground. Would he lick my face or would he tear me apart? I was hoping this wouldn't be the end.
My eyes flashed everywhere for some form of protection. But, my little eyes saw nothing. I didn't even think about the small blue Hello Kitty bag I was carrying. I finally saw off in the distance a large sprinkler shooting out water onto someone's already green grass. There were dozens and millions of flowers sprouting out everywhere.
