Shawshank redemption

Movies have influenced so many people in so many things, whether good or bad. In my opinion, I truly think movies have so many effects on so many different kinds of people.
Three years ago I watched a movie called the Shawshank Redemption. It was one of those movies you sit up at night thinking about. The Shawshank redemption narrates a story about a guy imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. Exoneration was impossible, and the only solution was to take things in his own hands. The movie is acted in the most beautiful way, and goes through the life span of two or three characters, greatly bringing the viewers into it. The prisoner eventually is able to dig a hole using a small hammer, through the stone walls of the prison, and escaping through the hole he had been working on for a decade. The story has so many metaphors and so much advice for the viewers. During the life of the prisoner, it shows us in explicit details how he used to dig and hide the dirt in his pockets and empty it outside on his breaks without being noticed by anyone, not even his best friend.
People could think about this story as a motivation for life. People could think of it as a person who has always been optimistic about life and living his life to the fullest. He knew he didn't commit the crime, and he also knew that there was no chance of him getting out of prison. Any other typical prisoner would have given up a long time ago, and either committed suicide or just lost hope in anything related to living. The movie shows you the ups and downs of a typical prisoner's life, and how easy it is to lose hope in everything. There were so many twists and knots in this story, that a typical viewer would practically be jumping up and down excited to see the end of it.
One could also think of this story as an example of the saying "a journey of a thousand miles begins with one mile". Everyone thought it would be impossible to dig a hole with a small hammer in the wall, and if it was possible, it would take the guy a decade.
