Red cross

Some of us might have seen it in action helping people in need all over the world. Red Cross is an international Organization, which is located in almost every country of the world.
We all witnessed their support during the September 11th terrorist attack. Many people right now are being helped at places such as Somalia, Liberia, Afghanistan, Iraq, New York, Southern California, and all over the world. Since they will always be destructions, natural disasters, wars and all kinds of human suffering, the need for an organization which deals solely with providing help to the needed and alleviating the human suffering is great. I want to quote their mission statement, which I found it very enlightening:.
" The mission of the American Red Cross in Greater New York is to help people avoid, prepare for, and cope with emergencies; to enhance self-reliance and concern for others; and to improve the quality of human life.
It does this through services that are led by volunteers and guided by its congressional charter and the principles of the International Red Cross Movement.".
             .
Red Cross gave many times its presence and it will always be present for those who need it. The only thing that we should consider as residents of this world is supporting this Organization. Since this is a non-profitable organization and it is not a governmental agency, all support is extremely valuable and highly appreciated. Some of the services that the Red Cross provides 24 hours a day, 7 days a week are: emergency services, health and safety services, homeless services, services to the armed forces, transportation services, services to seniors and international tracing. .
Contributing to the Red Cross you are being assured that your contribution goes to a good cause. Some of the contributions you can make are; give blood, tissue donating-which helps skin reconstructions for burnt patients and certain sizes of heart valves for cardiac patients-, volunteering, planned giving, donating goods and donating money.
