What is Public Administration?

The main objective of public administration is to organize the society system, to solve social problems, to improve the well-being, the standard and quality of living, and economy of the community, society, country, and the world. The well-being of the people is based on economics and social resolutions. The job is people-oriented. Ethics and morality are the most important features for effective public administration because what you do affects groups of people. It should also be separated with politics although it is impossible to separate them because public administration needs government (politics) to exist. Politics is concerned more about playing games and fighting for power that sometimes they forget the core duty i.e., to serve the people. Public administrators should focus about management: how to manage effectively and efficiently for the sake of the people. Public administrators plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate whatever they do. Everything is interrelated and of equal importance. Who plans, based on what. Who takes it into action. How effective it is, how transparent it is. What is the performance based on? How effective is the evaluation process. Who evaluate it? How to improve? How much decision power to give to be responsive enough while you can still monitor and control. Who evaluate the performance or activities? Annual budget, for example, since every dept doesn't want to have their budget cut next year, they would have to find ways to spend it all somehow. How do you know how efficiently the budget was spent? Public administrators get people involved as much as possible. Public administrators are part of how well and where the country is going to be. The country is like a big organization. Public administrators are the employees who determine the fate of the nation. Since we do not live in the Utopia world, of course, it's not an easy task at all.
