Is there a solution to Multiple Sclerosis


            
             Multiple Sclerosis is a continuing nervous disorder that occurs when plots of medulla throughout the brain and/or spine are slowly destroyed by the bodies own immune system. Medulla (or Myelin) is a white, fatty substance that covers some nerve fibres, so when it is attacked it causes scarring (Sclerosis) throughout the central nervous system (multiple) which then interferes with the sending of messages through these nerve pathways.
             What are the symptoms?.
             Because the Central Nervous System controls so much of our bodies functions it is not hard to imagine that because of this there are many symptoms which are all quite varied. Some of the most common symptoms are:.

             Overall Weakness of the body.
             Numbness.
             All levels of pain from moderate to severe .
             Body Tremor .
             Speech disturbances .
             Problems with vision.
             Dizziness .
             Bladder dysfunction such as uncontrollable urine.
             Bowel dysfunction .
             Sexual dysfunction .
             Depression .
             Fatigue .
             .
             How is MS currently treated?.
             At the moment there is no cure for Multiple Sclerosis but there are treatments to help suppress and control the symptoms of MS. Most commonly drugs are used to treat MS, steroids previously being the most common. There are numerous drugs on the market that treat certain symptoms of MS but not all.
             How might treatment of MS change in the near future?.
             At the moment research is being held into how MS occurs so that future treatments may fully understand the problem. All the time new drug are being created and tested to help suppress more symptoms. But for an actual cure for MS there is talk of using stem cells to repair/replace damaged myelin.
