The letter basically says that they think his political friends are bad, his irreligion is bad and his private life (more then likely meaning his homosexuality) is bad. The letter ends with a threat of his life. .
Lorca starts to worry quite a bit now and isn't sure of what he should do. At five o" clock in that same evening the two mysterious men arrive back at his gate, they look around and stay a little longer then they had in the morning of that day. He comes to the conclusion that he does not feel safe at his home anymore and decides to leave. Lorca's cousin told couffin:.
That afternoon Federico seemed to us to be in the grips of an insurmountable depression. Seated at the window, motionless and seated at the window. . . . .At about five o" clock he turned to us and said "Here they come . . .".
Later on Lorca finds out they weren't even looking for him. They were looking for the brother of one of Federico's caretakers. After searching Lorca's from top to bottom and not being able to find the caretakers brother. So, they tied his brother up to a tree and beat him. Federico tried to get in the middle and tell the men to leave his property, he was struck in the face by one of the men. They kept calling him a "queer" and beating him a little more. Short thereafter another group of men came and prevented any killings that might have taken place at Lorca's house. .
Lorca decided to leave now and called one of his friends, Luis Rosales. Since all the Rosales were fangists, he felt he would be safe there, since everyone that was attacking at Lorca's house were allergists. Rosales came and picked Lorca up at his house. Lorca and Luis Rosales discussed on where they could take Lorca to hide. Rosales said the Republican, which is a neutral zone. Lorca didn't want to go to a neutral zone, so they just took him to the Rosales home. Lorca was at the Rosales for about eight days until, August 15th.
