My past to my future

It was coming to the end of my sophomore year and I was looking for a summer job. I applied to Slack's Hoagie Shack, thinking, " oh this can't be a hard job-answering phones, using the register-piece of cake." Well, I did get hired, but I was dead wrong on this job being "a piece of cake.".
My first day of training was that typical nightmare where everything you touched broke and you couldn't make anything go right. Not only did I have to answer phones and use the register, I had to cook food, clean dishes, mop a floor, and restock. This job wasn't what I thought it would be but I refused to quit that easily.
Months go by and then a whole year. One day my boss pulled me aside and told me that because of my hard work and dedication, he was promoting me to assistant manager.
Becoming a manager was like starting a new job all over again. There was a lot to learn but I pushed myself to learn all the new responsibilities. It was hard at first, because I was now managing other employees who had become my friends. Some of them didn't like me telling them what they had to do. But I talked to each of them and explained that I was just doing my job and now we are all getting along better. .
One of my Favorite responsibilities as an assistant manager is training new employees. I always tell them about my first day and how bad it was. Then they feel better knowing we all went through the same things in the beginning, but it does get better. In training new employees, I have learned patience in teaching, which I know will benefit me the rest of my life.
This job has been a life experience. I've been working here for over two years now. A lot of employees have come and gone while I've worked there, and there were times that I thought I should leave also but I never did. I wouldn't let myself quit. At Slack's, I learned that by not giving up and always keep pushing your self to go farther in life, you will succeed.
