             But, unfortunately most of them meant spending money. My parents never had that kind of money to spend. They had bills to pay and children other than me to raise. So I spent my timeBREAK DANCING.? Most sports just meant spending money. Or they had an entry fee to pay. All you needed to break dance was a boom box, cardboard and your self. There is no entry fee.
             As some people know break dancing came from the street. Break dancing started up in the 1970's and went on through the 80's when it really blew up in the Bronx. The main source of breaking was music. Thegodfather of soul? also known as James Brown turned it up a notch with his style of dance. One of his hit songGet on the good foot? inspired crowds of people to imitate his dance moves. Break dancing was also called B-boying. Most of them who did it called themselves B-boys or B-girls. Depending on whom you asked. The B stood for breaker, Bronx, and Beat. Back then if you wanted to see breakers in action you would go to Roxy. That's where all the battles mainly took place. The point of a battle was to show how good you where with your dance moves and try to top your opponent's moves. The Roxy was a dance club where all the teens would hang out. It became so known that they eventually filmed a movie, which helped Breaking expand through the American culture. The movie was called Beat Street, one of the first movies of its kind. .
             There are many great ones in breaking. Some of the most known are B-boy Ivan, Storm, and Kujo. They are known for their great skill and power. It takes great commitment on their part to be get were they are and that's why they are known. B-boy Ivan and Storm are known for their great power moves and combos. Kujo has incredible upper body strength. Their skills are unmatched and they are in almost every break dancing videos to date. .
             I was first introduced to break dancing in 1996 but I really did not pay attention to it. I found it hard to find people that were into that other than me.
