Perspectives of Modern Psychology


            Psychologists have taken different views towards finding causes of behavior in.
             There are seven different perspectives that dominate modern .
             psychology. The biological, psychodynamic, and cognitive perspectives are .
             three views that greatly influence psychological study. Even though these views .
             are different approaches of understanding behavior, it's common for .
             psychologists to combine some ideas from more than one view to create further .
             understanding. In the three examples stated above, there are some similarities .
             that prove this method of study.
             Psychologists who use the biological perspective understand that any .
             phenomenon can be understood through reduction into more specific units. .
             Behavior is determined by physical structures and hereditary processes. One .
             researcher might also take the psychodynamic approach into consideration .
             because similar ideas of human actions also stem from inherited instincts. In a .
             psychodynamic view, a researcher might study reactions to frustrations caused .
             by unjust authority. This perspective analyzes human aggression in a similar .
             approach to the cognitive. This same researcher might also the thoughts people .
             experience while witnessing violent acts. The cognitive perspective is the .
             dominant view in psychology today. Its views study on a higher mental process .
             such as perception or decision making; mostly brain-related activities. This .
             method is similar to that of the biological perspective which also focuses on .
             brain function and other systems for causes of behavior.
             While these three methods are similar, they also focus on behavior from .
             different points of view. A biological psychologists main objective is to .
             understand behavior at the most precise level of analysis. Most of the .
             psychodynamic principles, developed by Sigmund Freud, suggests that behavior .
             is often driven by motives outside of conscious awareness. The cognitive .
             perspective is unique in that its only partly determined by environmental events .
