Superstore have many advantages. An advanced futuristic, sophisticated, data mining variables that are able to learn what consumer want are giving consumers much satisfaction. Other advantages of superstores are that they have brought in better accounting system, quicker and more efficient security, easier aisle merchandise arrangements, and spacious, airy, clean toilets. Reasons why superstores dominate small retailers are because variety of products, competitive prices, excellent customer services, and apt store designs with up-country flavors. By opening up a new franchise in the upcountry will help Thailand's economy and will also create a better standard of living for Thai's. Due to rapid expansion of superstores, many jobs are created for local people, bringing down the unemployment rate. By decreasing Thailand's unemployment rate, it would also create a higher GDP because people would be willing to spend money to buy merchandise rather than just save the money. ("Mr. Nichols") Furthermore, booming, superstores has also impact important areas in the economy such as retailers, consumers and governments but depending on wholesalers perception of either it is right to do so.
Riding high on their popularity and profits, giant wholesalers have become bullies, unwilling to listen to others" opinions. Stung by criticism, wholesalers, superstores, and giant mass merchandisers have fought back in many ways. They had demanded higher fees for tenants who want to rent their spaces. They had underhanded small retailers by lowering prices even more such as Tesco Roll Back campaign. Suppliers who are late in sending in goods are fined and threatened.
