The Ottoman Empire

Orhan accepts and does the dirty work for the emperor but soon after the emperor asks for more. This time he asked Orhan for about 6000 soldiers and still he would pay for them. Orhan is not only interested in money this time. He wants castles in Europe. The Emperor agreed! This agreement however was not a good one for the Emperor because in 1354, soon after Orhan and his men have castles in Europe a devastating thing occurs. "God shakes the earth!". In reality castles fell, and in this time, Orhan takes advantage and attacks the Byzantines while they"re weak. In the meantime Christian peasants joined the ranks of the Ottomans. The peasants hated their emperor and wanted to do whatever they could to rid of him. With all of this came the Ottoman expansion into Europe. Finally in 1361, they had their first capital in Europe. They named it Edirne. A year later (1362), knowing he did what he was supposed to do, Orhan dies. The Ottoman's have now become a monster. The Christian world shutters at the sound of the name. The only way for survival is if they unite to expel the invader. The exact opposite happens. .
The newest and third great leader, Murhad begins to conquer states at a steady pace. Murhad used a different tactic of war. While invading he would speak to the invaded and tell them that if they honor him as their lord, he would grant them independence. He imposed taxes on the invaded and created the policy of paying for independence. Thinking he had a firm hold on these people, Murhad moved on to Turkey to try to defeat the Turkish foes. While he is gone some of the states start to revolt against him. He races back to defend against them. While doing so, he totally erases Bulgaria from the map. The country doesn't reappear until 600 years later. Murhad led the ottomans for close to 30 years but his time was almost up. It was the year 1389 that would be his last. Unfortunately for his murderers it would also be theirs.
