Comparative essay

In American politics there are two parties that are backed by the majority of politicians. Politicians from all fifty states claim their affiliation with these parties, along with the voters. It is natural to have this divide in social ideology and is necessary in a democratic government. The two major American political groups are the Republican and Democratic parties.
The Republican Party is the group that calls their ideals "conservative". The general view is that of a smaller government giving more power going to government officials. The conservatives do not support social service use with tax money. Why should one's hard earned income be taken and then given to the unemployed? It is simply a bad business move to these people. Many times one may hear the conservatives called the "right wing". This name came about from knowledge of the brain's two sides of function. The right side of the brain is less creative and more technically oriented. The right wing pushes for more military spending from taxes. One republican we all know is our president, George W. Bush. .
The Democratic Party is the more progressive of the two American political organizations. Many Democratic politicians feel that the best way to handle power is to keep in competition with European social ideology. For example, currently in California gay marriages are being allowed by the mayor of San Francisco much to the dislike of conservatives. We can also call the Democrats the left wing. Historically, the left has been a supporter of increased taxes in order to give all Americans an equal opportunity. A great majority, therefore, of the Democratic Party is the lower income population of the United States. .
All political parties in the United States have one common goal, no matter how different they claim to be. Their purpose is to create a better place for the people they represent to live. It is rare to see the two parties come together with these intentions, but in times of crisis one can witness politicians cling to their countries roots.
