Southpark

Kyle's dad is hired as Cartman's attorney and the lawsuits begin! .
Throughout this episode people sue as well as get sued. The characters" act of suing gets progressively worse and worse, and by the end of the show, literally everyone is suing everyone. This particular episode uses a burlesque technique of satire to focus attention to the frivolous law suits that are occurring in our society today. The way in which the creators have exaggerated all aspects of the show has added to the effectiveness that it has with its audience. For example, the first law suit begins as a result of name calling. After Kyle is taken to court and prosecuted by his own father, Cartman is awarded half of Kyle's belongings. Throughout the show the people are rewarded millions of dollars. This amount of money is not an unheard of amount of money when compared to the many law suits that we have seen in the past decade or so; however, Kyle's dad does not stop there. He is completely entangled and obsessed with the act of suing. Throughout the show he is the only lawyer that the audience sees because he is literally everyone's lawyer. .
As the show progresses, it slowly attempts to make the audience, which is also the future of our society, realize that these law suits that are taking place today should not be taken lightly. Seeing as how the majority of viewers watching South Park are young adults, the creators do an outstanding job of portraying serious subject matter in a way that has a lasting effect on viewers. .
While closely watching this particular episode of South Park, it is obvious that there is a definite gap between appearance and reality. If one took the show literally it would appear as if these characters have been treated very badly and consequently they are suing; however, in reality, they are all suing for ridiculous reasons while in turn they are hurting themselves and everyone around them.
