Eisenhower

The country of America was forced to face their fears after the Second World War, but these fears didn't arise in the United States community until the country was about to enter the Cold War. Without the support of president Eisenhower to suppress these fears many of the fears only increased.
Eisenhower demoralized the country in a March 1954 press conference, during the conference by showing signs of anxiety when he criticizes Americans for having irrational fears. Instead of criticizing he should have adjusted his foreign policies to better fit the American public. By condemning the American people it shows that he lacks confidence in the country's beliefs. In some situations as president it is more important to show strength than be completely honest. Eisenhower says the world is suffering and becoming hysterical, and by saying this he again reaffirms the fears of the Americans that there is something to be hysterical about.
The citizens in America were worried about their personal safety. This is prevalent in the reactions of suburban America; families were concerned about the need of bomb shelters. Even in schools they had bomb shelter drills, which is good preparation but was it entirely necessary? If the Eisenhower administration addressed the fears by creating better foreign and domestic policies the people would not feel the need to take this unnecessary precaution.
The Eisenhower Administration followed in the footsteps of Eisenhower when it came to defeating the peoples" fears. The secretary of state should help bring pride to the American people and do it realistically. Notify the people that there is a chance of Soviet invasion but that the U.S. military is taking care of the situation. With the strength of the U.S. army the Secretary of State should have already been taking the required actions to defeat the Soviet Union.
Eisenhower could have changed domestic policy for wartime efforts.
