Bradley Nowell and Jimi Hendrix are talented and popular musicians who are considered two of the greatest guitarists who ever traveled the radio waves. Their music possesses unique qualities that sparked the interests of people around the world. Musicians have adapted similar styles to Nowell and Hendrix in hopes of becoming as popular as they were. Bradley Nowell and Jimi Hendrix are from the west coast. Nowell was born on February 22, 1968, in California. He grew up in a broken home, and he had an attention disorder which led him to drug use at an early age ("Lovin's" 1). Hendrix was born on November 27, 1942, in Seattle, Washington. Hendrix spent his adolescent years teaching himself to play the guitar. Years of listening to B.B. Bradley Nowell, Eric Wilson, and Bud Gaugh formed Sublime in Long Beach, California in 1988 (Sublime History 1). They started out as a punk ska band and later added elements of reggae, ska, blues, hip-hop, surf, and rap to their music.
