"Martin Luther King and his View of the American Dream".

The reason why I have chosen the topic "Martin Luther King and his view of the American Dream" for my research paper has its roots in my early childhood. My mom was very impressed of King and read picture books about him to me.
Also during my exchange year in the United States, Minnesota, in the summer of 1999, I had the opportunity to discover several things about "The American Way of Life". One of the most important experiences, which gave me a lasting impression, concerned American people's attitudes towards Mexican people. You can still find segregation in Minnesota. In the town where I stayed I was shocked to see the segregation in church. Mexican people went to church on Sunday evenings instead of Sunday mornings with the other members of the community. To show my disagreement with the situation I went to church with the Mexican people on Sunday evening instead of going together with my family. After a while my host sister shared my opinion and came along with me. It made me feel great and I thought of Martin Luther King in this situation and that is why I think I have chosen this topic. I wanted to know more about Martin Luther King's personality.
At the beginning I began to look for information on the internet and in various libraries. I also conversed with a Professor of American History, Clayborne Carson, who is also the Director of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Papers Project at Stanford University. He helped me to find some great speeches of Martin Luther King and to get started.
I will start my examination by giving a biography of Martin Luther King and later I will analyze what is obliging behind King's American Dream and how it came to it. .
I will finish my work by giving an outlook of King's acquisitions and a final statement of myself.
