Chicago Public Schools

As a freshman in college and a graduate of the Chicago Public School system, I have many complaints on how the public school system works. The public school has done a poor job of preparing me for college. Now that I am a freshman in college, I have suggestions on how to prepare others for college and for life. There are many brains going to waste due to the poor job of teachers. .
I graduated from John Marshall Harlan Community Academy in Chicago, Illinois.              The public schools didn't prepare me well enough, so I had to take intermediate courses before I could move on to the college level courses. To make matters worse I failed one course which was Intermediate Algebra. If the public schools had prepared me earlier during my high school years, I wouldn't be taking lower level classes again. Public schools should have prepared American students for tests that we need to take before and while we are in college. Due to the poor preparation of public schooling, college is not easy for me.
In some cases it might not be the systems fault but in most cases it is. If the school system was more educational, rather than a daily recreation, there would be more scholars amongst the youth. Most students have the potential to do what ever they put their mind to, but it takes a teacher to teach us how to bring that special potential out. .
