Night

Throughout the history of the world there have been many crucial events that have changed the way people live. One major event that has spoiled our world forever was the Holocaust. The Holocaust occurred during World War II, by Nazi Germany. During the time of the Holocaust six million Jews were tortured and killed. Men, women and children were taken from their homes without any prior notice. They lost everything; their homes, jobs and normal lifestyles. The Holocaust was the worst genocide in history.
The Holocaust all began because Hitler blamed the Jews for Germanys defeat in World War I. He also blamed the Jews for all the problems Germany had at the time such as poverty, unemployment, starvation and disease. In early 1942, Hitler decided to carry out what he called "The Final Solution," which he hoped would bring an end to the Jewish population. He ordered millions of European Jews to be arrested and deported to special camps. This is how concentration camps became death camps. .
When the Nazis invaded Europe, they came from country to country gathering up Jewish People. When they came into different cities, they would separate the Jewish people by making them wear Jewish stars on their clothes, to classify them more easily. Some people knew what was going to happen next because of rumors they heard, and some chose not to believe it. Others were just confused. After the Nazis gathered enough people up they sent them to concentration camps. This is when all hell began. .
People were sent to the concentration camps by means of trains. They were packed into the trains like sardines. Inside the trains they had to stand for 12 hours or more depending on where they were sent. It was hot and hard to breathe. There was no food or bathrooms. People were crying and panicking. Concentration camps were places were Jews were confined and kept under terrible conditions. One of the biggest ones was Auschwitz.
