Now people have the mentality saying that it could have been them in that market place. So in turn terrorism takes a small amount of power and amplifies it through its psychological effect. The FBI has categorized two types of terrorism in the U.S. alone. One is Domestic terrorism, which are terrorist groups who work at destroying our government and population without any foreign direction. The second is international terrorism, which is groups or individuals whose activity are based outside this country and go above any national borders. As far as the word today there are three main categories of terrorist groups operating all over the world. The first is non-state supported groups; they are small special interest groups such as antiabortionist and environmentalist. These people come and go in spurts, usually because they don't have the money, or the contacts, or the skill and training it takes to pull off a successful mission. The second is a state sponsored group; these groups reserve training, weapons, and any support from many nations such as Libya, Iran, and so on. The support from countries such as these is able to provide groups the money, the location, and capabilities to travel all over the world to complete their objective. The U.S. Department of State say that groups in this category are responsible for 70% of the terrorist activity targeted at America today. The third is State directed groups, which are groups who are organized, taken care of and controlled by a nation. These groups themselves are like our countries own Special Forces unit. They are trained, supplied and looked after by that country and when their country calls they are ready to fight and die for their cause. .
The hard-core leaders of the group are the dedicated professionals; they are very smart, charismatic, have many contacts and are usually from upper middle class families. Most of the leaders are taught right here in America in our schools.
