Vitals

            When you go to the doctor or to the ER what is the first thing that they do? They take your vital signs. Vital signs are important because they can tell a lot about what's wrong with a person. If you could stop a disease from happing to your self wouldn't you want to know how to detect it. In my speech I will explain how to take vital signs and tell you why they take them.
             There are four vitals that the doctor or nurse will take. One of them is your blood presser. There are two numbers when you take a blood presser theirs the top which is the systolic and theirs the bottom which is diastolic. You but the blood presser cuff on the right or left arm then you put the thesocope on the inside of the arm {where the back of the elbow is}. You pump up the cuff to about 160 to 180 depending on how big the person is. After the cuff is pumped up you turn the knob to let the air out slowly you should hear something that sounds like a heart beat where you start to hear the beat is the top number. Where the beat stops is the bottom number. The second thing they do is your pals here you can take it in neck or your rest and if you use a O2 stat it will tell you the pals along with your oxygen. With your pals you count how many times you feel the beats for 30 seconds and times that number by two {or you count for a minute.} They next thing they might do is you temperature which with this they can take it in your butt or you mouth, and you arm pit. If they take it in you arm pit you have to add a degree if they take it from you butt or in your mouth they temp is what ever it says. When they take your temp or your pals they might take your respirations at the same time. Respirations are how mine times you chest goes up in 30 seconds or a minute if you do 30 seconds you have to times what ever your number is by two. .
             Why do doctors or nurses do your vitals? If you think you broke a bone or you have an infection in your body some where your temperature will be kind of high and your blood presser might be a little high or low.
