             Douglas Adams who was born in Cambridge, England in 1952 wrote "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" which was published in 1979. Adams was creative child who began his writing career by creating comedy sketches during his education at John's College in his hometown. His persistence paid off as he later received his Master of Arts degree. As a young writer, Adam's began to write radio scripts for he British Broadcasting System (BBS). One of the popular series that Adams had created was titled "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" and ran for twelve successful installments. Because of the popularity, Douglas Adams was asked by a publishing house to produce a novel based upon his radio series. The novels sold quickly and inspired Adams to write four sequels following "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". Douglas Adams died on May 13th of the year 2003. .
             There is a significant background to the novel "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" which introduces new topics into the 1980's. The common topic of Space exploration was re-introduced in the novel from the issues that brought up the stir over the American's and the Soviet Union. The Internet was also a popular discussion that originated in 1969. Argument over the demands of communication and information were released in "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" in 1979. The humor of the novel saved the initial shock from society when the book was first released. An imaginative, hilariously clever novel allows anything to the imagination. Literally anything can happen in Adam's book where the reader will not expect was is in store for them. .
