Baseball

In baseball, each team is consisted of nine players: a catcher, a pitcher, first baseman, second baseman, third baseman, shortstop, left fielder, right fielder, and center fielder. Each person is important to the team, but the pitcher in the defensive part of the game is most important. The offensive team is made up of batters. The batting lineup goes from one to nine, the first three being the fastest, fourth being powerful, and rest in order of ability. There's six types of hit: a bunt, a grounder, regular, a pop-up, a line drive, and a homerun. A bunt is when you let the ball hit the bat. Usually this happens when you"re trying to get the runner home, or a fast runner is trying to make it to base. A grounder is when you hit the ball and it rolls around on the ground. A regular hit is hitting the ball with the bat in the shape of a parabola into the infield or outfield. A pop-up is when the ball goes really high in the air. If the defense catches it before it hits the ground, the runner is automatically out. No runner on the bases may run until the ball has proceeded. A line-drive is basically a straight hit and is considered one of the hardest to catch. A homerun is when the ball goes out of the park. Obviously not caught. A point is automatically scored by the runner and everyone on base proceeds to home and scores as well. Obviously the point of the game is to get home!.
