The Comparison and Contrast of Creation Mythology

Edith Hamilton discerns that "it was natural to think of these fearful creatures as the children of Mother Earth, brought forth from her dark depths when the world was young. But it is extremely odd that they were also the children of Heaven." (Edith Hamilton Mythology. p.65. para 2). The giants were deceitful toward Zeus and he was eventually forced to punish them just as God had to punish Adam and Eve for their sins. Correspondingly, "The Epic of Gilgamesh" ascertains to be relatively akin in its saga.
"The Epic of Gilgamesh" is like a sub-story of "Genesis" because it simply appears to be a smaller version. In this account, the main deity is Aruru along with the secondary, Anu. The originator establishes a realm just as God produced the Heavens and the Earth. He shaped man and woman from clay to finalize his innovation. Although Gilgamesh only created a small nation, it was just like the world to him; he knew of no difference. Maureen Gallery Kovacs describes the beginning of this creation by telling us that "He saw the Secret, discovered the Hidden, he brought information of (the time) before the Flood. He went on a distant journey, pushing himself to exhaustion, but then was brought to peace. He carved on a stone stela all of his toils, and built the wall of Uruk-Haven, the wall of the sacred Eanna Temple, the holy sanctuary." www.ancienttexts.org). The Chinese had some rather outrageous beliefs in which PanGu is seen as the main divinity.
PanGu is supposedly born from an egg laid out in the midst of darkness and empty space. The Giant PanGu from an Internet source puts the creation into perspective with the following excerpts: "The lighter, purer parts of the egg rose and formed the heaven; the heavier and impurer parts fell, and formed the earth. This was the origin of he forces which are called yin and yang." (www.jcu.edu). The passage also informs us of the remnants of the creation of the earth by signifying to us that "At his death the natural phenomena were formed out of the different parts of his body.
