Miss Brill

In the story "Miss Brill," Miss Brill is described as an old and lonely woman. The loneliest segment of the population in Korea is old people, whose age is between 60 and 80. The reason they feel lonely in their part of society is that younger people often shun them. Young people underestimate old people because young people think that the old people's contribution to society is done. Adults also underestimate seniors because they are old and weak, but the people should know that old people still have power to move the world. The seniors get lonely because they don't have many friends, as they get older.
Seniors feel lonely because younger people often shun them. They think the old people have no more things to contribute to society and have no economic power. Their descendants do not respect most grandmothers and grandfathers after they retired from jobs. There are some communities that socialize seniors, like senior centers, but there are not enough to accommodate all of them.
Another reason that makes seniors lonely is that seniors do not have many friends than they were younger. As they get older, they lost contact to some friends, and sometimes, totally forget their friends, so they form a new group that is for only seniors. Same as senior centers, there are some companies hired by government that work and help out for the meeting of old people, but there are not enough. Some of bad companies advertise largely and swindle seniors" money. .
The Korean government has to work hard to solve these problems. First of all, shunning old people is the biggest mistake in one's life because everybody will get old. The government should publicize the seniors" significant role when they were younger and stop them to underestimating them. For example, they can mention some big companies that have old powerful CEOs who made our life easier. Second, the government should make more asylums or senior centers for seniors to socialize.
