Longer School year

            
             Many people are to shortening our already very short holidays, and vacations. I think that if they were to lengthen the school year then kids might rebel and we would have a major rebellion that could take years to control. I personally was furious to hear last year that we got out of school on June 6th! I tend to learn a whole lot on my vacations, like a couple years back I went to Williamsburg, Virginia and I learned so much about the cultures of the people back then and about the Revolutionary War, although my vacations are already cut short for school anyway.
             The statistics in the Dallas Morning News say that children that want this shortening are just over 2% and 98% of these kids do not want the shortening of our vacations and holidays. I really think the kids should have something to do with their lives after all they get to live it why can't they have their own choices. Parents don't think that their kids can make choices on their own but they really don't even know till they let them try.
             I know I personally would go crazy if the school year lasted the whole year with just a few holidays and I can't imagine what other people might do. I seriously think that the teachers safety would be at risk with about 700 kids in our school and 53 teachers I think we could out power them. If this were to happen I know I am already depressed with school and with all the people in school because kids can be so cruel.
             Kids need to use the summer to regroup and get back in touch with their inner self. Personally I know I already have all I can take of teachers I"m sick of them always bossing me around and getting me in trouble for blowing my nose and forgetting to bring a paper. I mean I do these things every once in a blue moon a still they are mad I think they need the summer to so they can get some counseling.
             In conclusion kids should not half to bear the pain of going almost a whole year.
