             Scout's frustration with her first grade teacher Miss Caroline, whom does not understand .
             Scout, is essential to the plot through the tensions caused that are later revealed during the trial. .
             While at school, Scout confronts Miss Caroline that Walter Cunningham is poor because of his .
             family, which makes Miss Caroline furious. Miss Caroline is new in the school and does not .
             know the people in Maycomb and thier lives. Scout does not only express her thoughts through .
             her actions but mainly through her words, which causes her a lot of trouble. Scout tells Miss .
             Caroline she already knows how to read and this causes Miss Caroline angry because she .
             believes it will interfere with her teachings. Miss Caroline's morals of teaching makes one .
             question if these kinds of teachers want their students to accelerate or if they care for the students .
             education. Scout is put down by Miss Caroline's comments and causes her to be confused. Scout .
             goes home and tells Atticus she does not want to go back to school because Miss Caroline has .
             convinced Scout that Atticus has been teaching her wrong. By Atticus making a deal with Scout .
             telling her that he will continue to read to her as long as she does not tell Miss Caroline shows .
             his calmness as an adult and parent. As later seen through the story, Atticus needs to stay calm .
             and in control of any kind of situation.
