Romeo and Juliet was written by William Shakespeare in the 1500's. Romeo and Juliet is a story of two young lovers, whose love was destined for destruction. There were three main aspects of their destruction that included, the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets, the nurse and her betrayal to Juliet, and fate itself. The two young lovers knew that their families despised each other, and this is why they kept their marriage a secret. If their families would have known about the marriage, they would have banned Romeo and Juliet from being together. Romeo and Juliet both turned to others for help with their situation. Juliet turned the Nurse, who was also her friend. The Nurse betrayed Juliet at a very crucial time, telling her that she thought it was best that she married the Count. Romeo turned to Friar Lawrence for help. Friar Lawrence helped Juliet throughout the whole play. He kept their marriage a secret and was helping them stay in contact. When the nurse betrayed Juliet, it left her alone in the situation. The most important fact in this play was fate. Many situations in the play revealed that Romeo and Juliet's love would end in death. The love and death of Romeo and Juliet may have been destined to end the feud between their families. When Romeo came to the Capulet home for a party, he wore a mask. Juliet fell in love with him before his face was revealed. If Juliet had known before who he was, they would have never fallen in love. This shows how fate plays the biggest part in this play. Romeo and Juliet were two young lovers who did nothing wrong, besides falling in love. At the end of this play the Capulets and Montagues reunite for a funeral.
