THE BILL OF RIGHTS

The Bill of Rights today is not followed by the American people. Everyday we see all around us in society that people do not follow the amendments. Our rights have been lessened throughout the years. Now our freedom of speech is even different from how it was ten or twenty years ago. Our right to bear arms is questioned also. What is the world coming to? There are many examples like people who kill do not deserve to have the right to bear arms. Now a days if someone says something like bomb, or threatens another person they will get sued or go to jail for just saying something that maybe they did not even mean. Is this really freedom of speech? No! it is not. This is why today in our world the Bill of Rights is not being followed the way that it should be.
The first amendment says that we should be able to have freedom of speech, religion and freedom of the press. This amendment is not followed in the right way as is says. First of all we can not let all the people be free to do all of the things that their religion lets them do. For example, there are religions that say that you can marry as many women as you want, other religions let you sacrifice animals these things are against the law. This is why it is not a full freedom of religion. It is a freedom that is allowed as long as it does not break any laws. Freedom of speech is also not followed. Not everyone can say anything that they want. Especially for students. We as students are not allowed to say many things when we are in school. For example, we can not say bad words to the teachers or threaten others or say something about shooting the school because we will get into a lot of problems. This is not right because people say things that they do not mean all the time and how can you punish someone for saying something hat they were just kidding about and that they did not really mean. The freedom of the press is sometimes not respectful and can be not true.
