In The Lake Of Woods

My first impression this book was good. From the beginning I could tell I was going to be interested. So people might be confused by the way the story is told by I enjoy how the story is told from present and also flashbacks. This I believe is a better way of keeping the reader interested, instead of going in chronological order. To me that is what makes a story boring. He leaves the chapters with cliff hangers so you reading.
Every time something was happening in the present he would flashback to explain why. Also I like that the book has no definite answer to the conflicts. How a lot of the book is speculations, what may or may or may not have happened to Kathy. He lets your own imagination take over. Furthermore he goes into great detail with the story, making you feel like you know the characters of which you are reading about. He draws you in with his words. I enjoy that I can play detective.
The book is just so real to reality. It's just like something you could read in a police report. He especially was good when he put police reports into the story. How when someone goes missing they give the description of the person. He wanted you to feel like you"re really there. This is what we would call a perfect murder. No one will ever know what happened to Kathy except for Kathy. .
John is a Vietnam Vet, a failed politician and practitioner of magic. Through evidence and flashbacks the book unveils him to be a complex man that has many dark secrets in his closets. So of the secrets that he was hiding played into why he lost the election. .
John shows himself to be the perfect man but inside is a dark and ice cold place. There are many different character traits to which John Wade wants you to think he is and whom he really is inside. .
When I first realized John was not like every one else is after he lost the primary elections for United States Senate. He had Kill Jesus screaming inside his head. That is not the thoughts of a normal person.
