Everyone has certain qualities or traits that influence one's decisions, which can be either beneficial or detrimental. This is where personal strengths and weaknesses derive from or make each one of us unique. We need to be able to recognize not only our strengths, but also more importantly, our weaknesses. Weaknesses would be the area that we need to ask for help or assistance from others in order to grow and prosper as an individual. My strengths, which would include patience, listening skills, or a friendly ear for helpful advice, are what make me successful. On the other hand, my weaknesses would include weak writing skills, procrastination, and delegation of authority. These weaknesses are not just limited to those few, but they are the major areas of concern in my life that need addressed.
One of my strongest attributes would be patience. This strength, which most humans yearn for, leads me on a less stressful path to raising my six-year-old daughter. When dealing with my daughter, whether it is during fun and games or during discipline, patience on my behalf opens up lanes of communication between the two of us. Living a life that is not too stressful helps me out not only mentally, but also physically and emotionally. If I were to live with more stress in my life, my health and my relationship with others might have a negative outcome.
The other strength that I possess makes me the person that I am. When someone dictates information to me, I give him or her my undivided attention. If the situation is related to my work, the information only has to be passed once before the job is being completed as per the instruction. One of my subordinates might come to me with feedback about a job we might be doing because that person knows that I will listen to the point being made without any repercussions. That is what makes my team so strong with communication flowing in both directions.
