Terrorism is defined in the dictionary as "The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons."" With every terrorist attack, a chain reaction of destruction starts. First, the actual obliteration or ruin of any landmark or place the terrorists target. Because of this damage, the economy of that country and any country in alliance with it experiences a downfall "stock markets crash, businesses go down, jobs are lost. With the collapse of the economy, every individual living in these terrorist aggrieved countries experiences economic, emotional and mental hardship. Millions of lives have already been lost in past acts of terror, causing great grief and suffering among the families and loved ones they left behind. Yet, their troubles do not stop there. Apart from the fact that they have lost someone dear to them, these families have to deal with the financial instability that comes with this loss, especially if they have lost a breadwinner of their family. Terrorism is a disease that destabilizes international economies and must be suppressed for the greater good of mankind.
On September 11, 2001, the whole world watched in shock and helplessness as the World Trade Center in New York City, fell into ashes as two terrorist-hijacked planes crashed into the two buildings. A third plane rammed into the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Three thousand of innocent lives of workers, tourists, and bystanders were lost that day, all because of the false beliefs of a group of people who resorted to violence as a solution to their quandary. The attack was believed to have been masterminded by Osama Bin Laden, a known opponent of the US government believed to have lead some past terrorist attacks. This event will forever have a place in history as one of the most shocking, ruthless acts of terror in history, and is believed to have been the trigger for the current global war on terror.
