A Trial of Terrorism

This last Saturday, December 13, 2003, the Ace of Spades, Saddam Hussein has been captured. led coalition has been hunting for the former dictator of Iraq since last July. He was hiding In a quote spider hole 8ft deep in a small town outside his home city of Tikrit. We had hardly any hope in capturing the most wanted man in Iraq alive .
So naturally the next question is what to do with this Evil terrorist.
I will give you 3 reasons why we should return the former Iraqi dictator to the country in which he ruled and support them in proceeding with a fair and efficient trial.
             1. The United states has no cause to try Saddam in a U.S. court of law.
             2. Saddam Hussein has Oppressed the people of Iraq for many years.
And 3rd of all We have a duty to help the people of Iraq in forming a court to try this war criminal.
The reason the united states has no cause in trying Saddam in a u.s. court is because he has committed no crime on American soil, and yet has committed hundreds of thousands of atrocities on Iraqi soil. Yes, we have spent Billions and billions of dollars to capture Hussein, but this still does not give us the right to try the former dictator in the United States. Yes, many soldiers have died in this war and the effects of those deaths were definitely felt throughout our nation, however the percentage of Americans that were affected by Saddam's reign is more than 90% less than the amount of Iraqis that felt his terror.
Throughout the years of Hussein's rule he has constantly terrorized the people of Iraq. He is a textbook dictator, he ruled through terror. Under the Baath regime Iraqis had virtually no rights, they were manipulated in every way imaginable. There are thousands of political refugees from nuclear scientists to news reporters that were falsely tortured and imprisoned by Saddam. There are hundreds of thousands of Kurds and Shiite Muslims that were Murdered purely on their religious beliefs and ethnicity.
